What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Do you have any traditions? Go in to detail about your plans for the 5 day weekend.

Usually, I go over to my grandparents' house and we eat "Thanksgiving Lunch" Then when my dad still lived with us, we'd go to my father's side of the family's dinner, obviously we only eat a tiny bit at each place, but that's how we did it. This year my sister, mom, and I are going to make some things to donate to shelters. I'm looking forward to the break from school!

As the above quote states, a résumé is something that you can submit to the internet so that people you apply to work under can get an idea of who you are and what kind of person you may be.

I have learned to code and create web sites, I have also learned different strategies and techniques to making websites functional and eye-pleasing.

November 3rd

Ruby passed away last weekend. I miss her so much, but I can't think of much to say. She was such a good dog; the best dog in the world.

October 20th

This weekend I found out that my dog, Ruby, has cancer. She's seven years old. Me and my family and all heartbroken; she's so skinny, and you can see the tumour on her side when she lies down. It's been really hard since she was diagnosed.

This weekend I got a lot of work done for school, and although it wasn't exactly fun, it felt really good to get caught up! My dog got sick though, so I was very worried about her for quite a while. She's been getting so skinny... But she's gone to the vet today so I know she'll be fine!

I went to look at a horse named Appy! I rode her around a bit, and very quickly found out she was lazy! Like really lazy! I managed to get her to lope around the pasture so that was fun! Her trot was a little high-energy, but all in all I had a great time.

I love everything about Web Design and Coding!! I have trouble memorizing things, but it's so much fun to do! I really like turning a blank page into something worthwhile to look at!

What is the importance of deadlines? How do high school deadlines reflect or simulate "real world" experience? Give an example of when you met or or didn't meet a deadline that was important.

Deadlines are important because they help us keep on track. I missed the deadline for CodeAcademy in my Web Design Class, and am working to get caught up.

I am a big procrastinator, so this quote means a lot to me in that way. I tend to put things off until the last minute, and then I'm not prepared for whatever I should have been prepared for. This happens to me a lot during school.

I like this quote as well, my twelve-year-old sister is always complaining about being bored, yet she has more electronic games than she can count, more pets than anyone could count, she's got her own computer, she is an artist, and a writer! Along with the fact that she lives next door to her very best friend!

How do you express your creativity? Explain.

I try to express my creativity in art, especially sketches, and in my ability to edit video. I also like to try and make up and understand the different personalities of many people so as not to offend anyone, and for ideas for stories I can write out. I would really like to learn how to code so I can add that to my list of creative skills I can work on!

I went to my father's house, and he, Tishi, and me went on a boat ride on his newest "baby". I also found more horses for sale that were closer, and if I can make it to all my classes this week, he's going to take me to see them! Here is Shadow, a beautiful silver dapple!

They are so loud! And... unclothed...! At least they are smart enough to use that new technology. I'll never understand it. But then again, why can't they just write letter's instead like normal people? They all act so inappropriately... like they are trying to anger us older folk!

Tell me about what you have learned in this class so far. Have you learned a lot? Do you want to learn more? What do you want to be able to do by the end of the semester?

I've learned and memorized several diffrent coding skills! It's super fun to use HTML, and I'm excited to learn more! At the end of the semester, I hope to be able to build a decent website! Web Design is the class I'm always able to look forward to so it's always fun no matter what we do in class!

I didn't do much, but I did get to see my father! He told me that I can't get a horse afterall, then we went to look at horses for sale, so... Don't know if I am or am not going to get a horse. But it was super irritating when after he promised me a horse when I got out of Marillac, and then changed his mind. He does that a lot though, so it's not too big of a deal I guess. This is a photo of the horse we almost got to see!

Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.



Alright, this paragraph does have a bit of truth to it, however, I do not agree with it. I think teens should be able to do what they want- as long as they are getting good grades and are polite. My father always says "Right now, school is your job," And I agree, our grades determine our futures. I also agree that all teens should have chores and such, but maybe just not quitye too much so they will have times to themselves.

Tell me if you agree with this statement and then explain why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted it, I should be able to use it."

     I disagree with this statement, I have posted my own photographs and drawings onto the internet, but that doesn't mean I want other people to use them. Personally, I am okay with others using my art as long as they credit me and don't claim it as their own. But that might not be the case with other people, I know several people who absolutely hate it when someone else uses their art. So no, I do not think images on Google, or anywhere, are 'free game'.

Monday, August 25th

     What do you know about Web Design right now? What did you know about Web Design before you walked in to this class? Tell me as much as you can about how web pages work. Try to use an example if possible.


     Web Design is about the literal make-up of the Internet. I know a little bit about it because I took this class last year, and have been learning to code for almost three years now. Web pages use a different "language", most websites use HTML, or Java. The different entries of text define the website's outside look, I think of it as like the muscle of the web, it holds it all together and you need to practice to achieve the level of an advanced coder.
